The Story

The new, four-storey Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, located at Seneca’s Newnham Campus in North York consists of an approximate gross floor area of 170,000 square feet, including a mechanical penthouse, and is surrounded by existing residence buildings and parking facilities. During construction, the previous Building L was removed to accommodate the footprint of the new building. In addition to the building itself, the project utilized Finch Avenue to include an arrivals plaza which connected the existing bus drop-off with the building’s main entrance. The project also included a pedestrian-oriented public space with both hard and soft landscaping, outdoor seating, gathering areas and a large sculptural “Seneca” sign.

Additionally, the neighborhood includes an existing bus drop off at Finch Avenue, along with a network of walking paths.
